Horse & Rider Portraits in Wellington, FL | Ella & Remi in Palm Beach Point
This portrait session in the heart of Wellington, Florida, was truly something special. I had the joy of photographing Ella and her handsome Dutch Warmblood gelding, Remi (registered name: Roewyn WPS), in the scenic Palm Beach Point equestrian community. These portraits were captured during my second photography trip to Florida, and it was an unforgettable way to round out the season.
Ella’s story with Remi is one of patience and perfect timing. She first came across him as a foal, listed by his breeder, but the timing didn’t quite work out for her to bring him home at the time. But wouldn’t you know it, Remi came back on the market not long after, and Ella jumped at the opportunity. She’s now had him for over two years and has brought him along beautifully. At just four years old, Remi is confidently working under saddle, a testament to Ella’s care and talent.
Ella is a skilled Hunter Jumper rider who splits her time between Pennsylvania and Florida. She works as a rider and trainer for a Pennsylvania-based equestrian program, spending her summers up north and her winters showing in Wellington alongside her employer.
This session was a blend of lifestyle and equestrian portraits—capturing not just Remi’s striking conformation and gentle personality, but also the bond and joy between horse and rider. The golden hour light that filtered through the trees was perfect, and Ella styled three beautiful outfits for our time together, adding variety and elegance to the gallery. Her friend Hollin, who she met during last year’s WEF season, helped during the shoot and kept the energy light and fun.
To preserve these memories, Ella chose a handcrafted Italian leather album featuring her favorite portraits from the session. She customized the cover with Remi’s registered name, "Roewyn WPS," stamped in silver foil—an elegant and timeless touch that reflects how meaningful this season is in their journey together. This heirloom album is now a permanent keepsake of their time in Wellington, filled with pages of golden light, soft expressions, and the powerful bond they share.
A few weeks after our session, Ella and Remi competed at the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF), where they took home first place in the Older Cross Rail Hunter class—a huge milestone and a proud moment for both of them!
For equestrians based in Wellington, Florida or Pennsylvania, these sessions are an opportunity to preserve this chapter of your story—whether it’s the quiet beginnings of a young horse, or a milestone in your partnership. I work closely with each rider to create a portrait experience that feels relaxed, meaningful, and true to you.
I'm currently booking equestrian portrait sessions in Palm Beach County, Ocala, and throughout Florida by request. I plan to return to Wellington in 2026, but if you're located elsewhere in the state, reach out—I may be able to come to you! I'm also booking now for my upcoming trip to Maine in August and September, as well as ongoing sessions in my home state of Wisconsin and throughout the Midwest. Whether you're showing at WEF, celebrating your partnership at home, or want portraits during peak fall foliage, I’d love to help you create timeless images you’ll treasure for years to come.
