There’s something magical about photographing a bond that runs deep, and Amber and her horse Odin were the perfect pair to capture in the golden evening light at Integrity Farm in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. This farm, formerly home to Olympic Gold Medalist Laura Kraut, offered a backdrop rich with history, beauty, and heart.
Amber chose three dresses from my client wardrobe that perfectly reflected the different facets of her relationship with Odin: a flowing crimson gown, a dreamy blush pink dress, and a bold black sequin blazer dress. Each look brought a unique mood to the portraits, capturing elegance, softness, and sparkle all in one evening.
A Hunter Jumper with a Heart of Gold
When I asked Amber what she loved most about Odin, her answer came straight from the soul:
“Everything… he is my whole world. I bought him as a yearling and am developing him into a lovely hunter jumper. He is the kindest, big-hearted, and most loving boy you will ever meet. I am beyond blessed to have him in my life and to be developing our relationship and friendship along the way.”

A Sunset Session to Remember
The session began in the outdoor arena, where the breeze added gentle movement to Amber’s dresses and Odin’s mane. From there, we moved up near the barn, framed by the fence line of trees and greenery that gave the portraits a timeless countryside charm. We finished by Odin’s paddock as the sun dipped lower, wrapping the pair in a soft golden glow.
