Ashlie and Krewe | Horse + Rider Session

Family Portraits | Seymour, WI | Windenoak Equestrian Center

On a beautiful October day, I found myself in Seymour, WI for a horse and rider portrait session. Ashlie, Krewe, Ashlie’s fiance, and their new puppy all joined us for this session at Windenoak Equestrian – a beautiful facility in Seymour. We had so much fun capturing the relationship that Ashlie and Krewe have!

Ashlie has owned this gelding since he was young and has stood by his side for all the adventures (and shenanigans) that Arabians are so handy for. The Arabian breed is known for an expressive, fiery demeanor that lends itself to disciplines of all kinds. They’re not the breed to fit just anyone, but Ashlie knew from day one that Krewe was the horse for her.  The pair trains primarily in dressage, but recently started trying out their hand in cross country events. Since Arabians are also known for agility and stamina, cross country is going to be a great fit!

Once thing I love about fall portrait sessions is how creative people can get with their outfits. Layering is a great way to have several cute looks without having to do a full wardrobe change each time. Jackets, vests, sweaters, scarves, hats, and accessories can all be mixed and matched to really get some fun variety in your images.

We finished up this session with a fun series featuring Ashlie’s fiance and their adorable new puppy. Look at those spots and that face! Any session that involves a puppy automatically goes on my list of favorites. Ashlie and family, thank you all for letting me photograph the special relationships you have!
