Sidelines Magazine Feature with Emma Crawford and Family

Elgin, IL Equestrian Photoshoot

I had the immense honor of capturing photos for Sidelines Magazine with Emma and her family for their feature. We couldn’t have asked for a prettier day or more cooperative ponies. Emma was born into a family of equestrians and when she took an interest in trick riding her parents reached out to a friend of theirs in Australia and the rest is history!

Getting to photograph Emma and her family was so special. We spent the majority of our time with Emma and her trick riding pony, Goldilicious or “Gabby” as she goes by. Emma has been riding Gabby since she was two years old and they two have formed quite the bond over the years. They have performed at the World Equestrian Center in Ohio and in Ocala, the Colorado Horse Park, and are slated to do it again in Calgary, Canada at the Royal Horse Show in October.

Gabby is a 20-year-old Welsh pony and although she isn’t ready to slow down just yet, the family purchased Lakota, a 13.1hh Mustang for Emma to start trick riding on as well. Emma and Lakota are well on their way to having a strong bond and Emma is enjoying mounted games and liberty work in between the trick riding with the little Mustang. Emma has big dreams for the ponies and horses she rides and is not short of ambition or determination.

All of the Crawfords ride and show in their respective arenas. Their main focus are jumpers but they have a few hunters in their barn as well. Check out the complete article in Sidelines Magazine here.
