Justin & Ringo | Horse & Rider Portrait Session

Justin & Ringo’s Equestrian Portraits

Crown Point Farm in Bonduel, WI

I can’t even begin to express to you how impressed I am by Ringo and Justin—why’s that, you may ask? Well, for starters, they share a bond like no other. Finery (who goes by the barn name Ringo) is a stunning Oldenburg Stallion trained in the discipline of dressage. And Justin is his experienced rider and companion that has been guiding Ringo throughout their time together. These two share more than a bond—they share goals, as well. In fact, Justin has dreams of taking Finery to the 2024 Olympics in Paris, and I can’t think of anything more exciting!

First, a little bit about Ringo—it was an amazing experience getting to spend some time so up close with an Oldenburg Stallion. These horses are bred with impeccable standards—each generation is bred to be even better than the last. They have gorgeous gaits and stunning jumping ability, and they are well-suited for dressage and jumping competitions. Many Oldenburg stallions such as Ringo have become extremely successful in dressage, and oftentimes can be found competing in the Olympics. Needless to say, Ringo came into this world with a lot of expectations—but this gorgeous stallion has risen to meet every single challenge with grace and breathtaking talent. And so much of this is thanks to his relationship with his best friend, Justin.

Our photoshoot took place on a beautiful and warm day in March in Bonduel, Wisconsin at the Crown Point Farm. This dressage training facility was a beautiful backdrop for our session together, and sometimes it was as if everything in the background just melted away—it was just Justin and Ringo. They really love each other, and they complement each other in every way. And since dressage is a sport that requires trust, patience, and grace, their shared connection is critical in their success. Like I mentioned earlier, Justin has big plans for himself and Ringo. They are working hard together to qualify to compete in the 2024 Paris Olympics. I guarantee you that when that day comes, I’ll be eagerly tuning in to watch these two share their talent with the world.

I know that Olympic dreams aren’t for everyone, but everyone deserves a photoshoot. In front of the camera, a horse and rider create memories that will last forever. That way, no matter where the road takes you, whether that be the Olympics or a trail ride back home, you’ll be able to look back on the past with fondness and see how far you have both come. I would love to hear more about you and your horse—so let’s get in touch and get you both on the calendar for a session of your own!
