One of my favorite parts of my job is the opportunity to spend time with so many extraordinary women, and when I first met Meggie, I was blown away by an adventurous spirit backed by one of the kindest hearts you’ll ever know. Meggie’s a leader, not a follower, but she’ll never leave the ones she cares about behind. She came to me wanting a session with her horse, Tag—one that could produce photographs that celebrated their friendship and captured their bond. Needless to say, I was so excited to get started. In the middle of a very busy season ripe with the excitement of graduating seniors, it was a nice change of pace to dedicate a session solely to the relationship between rider and horse.

Our session took place at the lovely Crown Point Farm in Bonduel, Wisconsin, a dressage equestrian center. The day, while a little chilly, was sunny, making for the perfect day to snap some pictures. Angela of Angela Marie Makeup Artistry was onsite to deliver her talent in the form of hair and makeup, and Meggie—who is already stunning—was simply gorgeous, completely lighting up the camera. 

Tag is disciplined in dressage, and he was a delight to work with. He hammed it up for the camera and acted like a movie star as he showed off his handsome self—it made for some awesome pictures where his personality really shines! The bond between Tag and Meggie is also something we should talk about—these two adore each other, and when they’re together it’s as though it’s just the two of them. I really enjoyed capturing their precious friendship on camera, and I hope that Meggie will forever cherish these pictures.
