Bridal portraits with a Horse

Seymour, WI

October is one of my favorite months. I love the crimson leaves and flame inspired hues of autumn. And believe me when I say Wisconsin is no stranger to the beauty of this season. October always invokes a bittersweet feeling within me—while I love winter, it is often sad to see the summer months fade into the year’s past. But October strikes that perfect balance. It is never a month I find myself wishing to pass; rather, I relish its refreshingly crisp days and draw inspiration from its kaleidoscope of warm and cozy colors. So, it probably would not surprise you to know that I love October sessions, would it? My clients Chad and Lauren were married on October 5th of 2019. We had our session the day after their wedding on what turned out to be a lovely, if not a little chilly, autumn day. For Lauren, it was crucial to have her horse Derby be a part of their session. Derby and Lauren have a beautiful relationship, and I could absolutely relate to her desire to have her beloved friend be a part of their special day. We met at my client exclusive location in Seymour, Wisconsin, and the newlyweds were both bubbling in excitement and joy. I have actually known Lauren since I was young. I grew up with her at the barn where I learned to ride horses. Remember Alex and Chip from one of my previous blog posts? Lauren used to own Chip. She was also the recent owner of Snoopy, my cousin’s barrel horse from years ago, until he sadly passed away. It was an exciting day for me as well, to catch up with an old friend and spend a session capturing some beautiful pictures of her, her new husband Chad, and the stunning Derby. I do not think she could have looked any more beautiful in her dress, and thanks to a little bit of artistry from Angela Marie Makeup she positively glowed. Thanks to the adventurous spirit of Chad and Lauren, the session was a blast and we were able to capture some incredible shots. Lauren was eager to venture into the water for some candid photo opportunities with Derby, and I am so grateful she was willing to give it a shot. The picture that ensued quickly became one of my favorites from the session! I enjoyed hearing all about the wedding and loved the opportunity to capture their loving relationship on camera. Your special day is not complete without the ones you love. And while Derby maybe was not able to walk down the aisle as a part of the bridal party, he still played a huge role on Chad and Lauren’s big day. No matter what special event you have coming up, you deserve to spend it with the ones you love the most. Whether that includes your closest family members or your most cherished animal friends, I want to be there to capture those loving relationships on camera. Professional sessions do more than celebrate a special moment—they celebrate all the people that share it. My October is just about full, it’s my most popular time of year for photos! Go ahead and contact me today if you’d like your very own fairytale photos.
